Carolina Inspection Services, Inc. is an accredited agency with the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to provide heat treatment (HT) inspection services for both lumber and Wood Packaging Materials (WPM).

The goals of CIS are to assist Wood Packaging Materials producers and Lumber producers in their export objectives and  provide support for compliance with the International Plant Protection Convention Guidelines for International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15).



Heat treatment

Carolina Inspection Services (CIS) heat treatment program was established to meet the growing needs of wood packaging producers and lumber producers who must conform to international standards for Wood Packaging Material (WPM) in accordance with International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), and American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) Guidelines.

Phytosanitary measures are aimed at reducing the risk of introducing and/or the spread of quarantined pests associated with wood packaging material, including dunnage, made from coniferous and non-coniferous green lumber.

 The goals of CIS are to assist Wood Packaging Materials and Lumber producers in their export objectives and to aid in maintaining compliance under the International Plant Protection Convention Guidelines for International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15).
